The large majority turned in the research project that was due today. Well done! If you belong to the unfortunate minority that were tardy ON THE ASSIGNMENT THAT WE BEGAN WORKING ON OVER A MONTH AGO then try to get it to me through email in the next few days. I'm sure we'll be talking soon...but for now, everyone else, start enjoying your break!
Here ends the 3rd Quarter of the school year. From here on out, it just seems to go faster and faster. I'm really looking forward to this next quarter, though: the big bang and galactic evolution, the revolutionary war an westward expansion. Good stuff!

Sorry to bother your break, but when will the grades be in?

It isn't a bother. I'm about halfway through grading the research paper and summative essay for all classes. My first group's grades are in, and yours should be in by tomorrow. With that said, when yours get posted, try to take them with a very tiny grain of salt. I need to statistically analyze the grades for each class, to see if there needs to be any adjustment. It is therefore possible that the posted grades might shift a tiny bit over the next week.

Are all grades final and put in on Parent Portal?

In general, the grades in portal are all accurate. I will hand back research papers tomorrow, and we'll discuss grades in class.

I'm the hero this website deserves, but not the one it needs right now. Anyone get the Batman reference? Spring Break 2014! Whoo!

On the rubric, the second column, meiosis, it states 5 things to explain. I missed two of those(1 and 5), so when I add them in to my paper do I have to do add a quote to the response to those questions?

You need to provide a citation indicating where you found that information, or where it can be found. A quote isn't required unless there is no way to explain it without a quote.

Sigh. While it is a summative, it is not an actual in-class test, so I suppose I will accept it. I'll even apply the -30% for Q3 instead of the -40% for Q4.
