As I told most classes, I will be in the building tomorrow, but I will be out of the room doing observations in other classrooms. This isn't a huge deal, since tomorrow we have our test on mitosis in science.
Let me say that again. We have our test on mitosis. For the love of all that is good, please tell me you started studying, hopefully last week. We shall see. The test is 25 questions: 10 matching, 15 multiple choice, about 60% of which are application based questions.
In social studies today, we used the word generation topic to explore the idea of whether Intelligent Design should be taught in schools. Interesting, each class had very different take on not just intelligent design, but on the role of parents and the community in setting standards for schools. We also used it as an opportunity to discuss argument tactics such as the argument from absurdity.
Also in social studies, we took some time to work on tomorrow's assignment: one of the CAR prompts for the New England Colonies will be due before tomorrow's test, so make sure that gets done.
Thanks!
