I had fun!
In any case, the main point of today was to read through our final text for the colonial period to introduce the idea of conflict over resources. In this case, the resources were mainly land, and the conflict erupted between the Natives and the Colonists in New England in King Phillip's War.
In the morning classes, we also got to watch a snippet from the last episode of "Into the Universe" as a bit of astronomy to whet our appetites for our next unit, which will begin with the Big Bang and end with the formation of our planet. It should be fun.
Please don't forget, the summative assessment for the colonial period is tomorrow, and the research paper is due. Walk in prepared! The rubrics for both are posted on this blog on Monday!
Finally, my desperate efforts to get the progress reports printed ultimately failed for my 3/4 class due to a misprint. Blast!
I will email out a progress report to that class in a few minutes. Sorry, sorry. If you didn't get a progress report, that is why. You can tell your parents to look here for confirmation.
