Now, remember, I talked in class about how important it is to have the proper perspective about assignments like the formative study guides, and the flash cards. These are not intended to be easy grades, or time fillers, or busy work. They are intended to practice some important skills: self-analysis, self-regulation, etc. The goal for the flashcards is to create valuable study materials, and to practice using them effectively: review and self-testing over a weeklong period helps build memory and understand so that we can apply knowledge. Last minute looking through poorly made study materials just wastes your time.
Recording detailed information about what you need to study, and how much you need to study it can help you spend your time wisely and focus on high-needs areas. Just writing down a few words so you can say you did it and then not using it wastes your time.
In short, like anything else in life, what you get out of many of these assignments depends largely on what you put into them, and how you approach them.
You have my advice. Get to work.
