Coincidentally, that means that a few things are important: Science Fair is due tomorrow. That means the completed tri-fold board or PowerPoint file needs to be in my possession as of the start of your class tomorrow, or it is late! Remember, the research paper and notecard sections of Science Fair are NOT due! We will be pursuing those as a separate project during the next quarter. If it cannot be completed within the assigned timeframe (and this is no surprise,) then it may be accepted on Monday with a parent signature. Be aware, grades for Quarter One need to be entered next week, which means (as you were warned) the normal late work rules won't apply. Get it done, and get it in!
In Science, we have started our new unit about cells as a part of Biology. We have begun reading through the new Chapter: Prokaryotes. The associated assignment is due on Monday. (Read the text, and from context clues, identify new terms that are explained. These cell structures and functions are the 15 vocab terms for this chapter that must be identified, defined, and illustrated. Further, you must come up with an explanation for the meaning of the other three terms: prokaryote, unicellular, and bacterium.) The text is up already in the Science>Biology: Cells>Prokaryotic Cells section.
In social studies, we have been practicing the new Complete Answer Response format by answering questions from the textbook about the settlement of the Americas.
