No?
Uh, me either. I am strong, and resilient.
In any case, today went well, overall. We went through a few things, if you'll allow me to recount.
First off, we started out in science with a very simple question: Where are volcanoes found? The resulting answers were for the most part accurate. Under water! In Hawaii! Mexico! The Ring of Fire! Alaska, etc. When I put up a map of volcanoes, most of what we had said seemed verified.
To start to answer this, we begin reading through the next text in science, "Inside Earth." The basic goal from the first page was to answer the question (proposed as an exit pass) "What are the similarities between the atmosphere and the interior of the planet?"
We then moved onto Social Studies. We reviewed the general trend of events in Washington and Adams' administrations, and then went over the SARs for the Jeffersonian Paradise Text. Then, we took some time to read through and work on the next test, "Madison, Marbury, Monroe, Quincy." I had intended to have those SARs due Friday, but after today's after school events, I am going to change that. Tomorrow we will do our Pre-Test for the Atmosphere unit. Friday will be work time to complete the "Madison" and Earth science texts, and the SARs for both will be due Monday. This way, there should be enough work time to allow everyone to finish the work before the weekend, but I will still be around to help people with questions about the formative test both in school and after tomorrow.
I am attaching the new science text here. Remember, the newer social studies texts are on yesterday's post. Ta!
