Today was a busy day. We are officially down to 6 full days of school remaining. In both classes, this means we are running low on time, so I'm making adjustments as we go.
First up: science. We did a quick review of atomic structure and mass, touched on isotopes, and then practiced solving some problems. (Note: if you are in a class that didn't get to that material, I'd advise holding off on it until we can look at it and go through it together.) I am attaching the related PPT at the end of this post. Since we are low on time, what we will do for the finals summative is this: next Wednesday, we will have an open note test. The test will mostly be application. If you can do the practice problems in the PPT, then your in good shape. If you do not study or practice and fail to bring in your notes, you will bomb.
In social studies, we started reading through the "3 Unknown Presidents" chapter. The associated responses will be done as an in-class short response. Overall, the final summative for Social Studies will be the same as the last one, only you will find and explain examples of the 4 themes from the Westward Expansion period. That will probably be on the last day of school.
Overall, grades are looking pretty stable. What is currently in the gradebook is probably what the final grade will be, except if something drastic changes, like getting an unusually good or bad score on the final assessments.
Bon soir!
